About Us
We Believe Better Is a Choice.
Every conversation has the power to change a life.
For more than two decades, we've been building our marriage, raising our family, serving our community, and challenging ourselves to become better people. Along the way, we've learned that growth rarely comes from having all the answers—it comes from asking better questions.
That belief became our mission.
Rescripting the culture, one conversation at a time.
Our goal isn't to tell people how to live.
Our goal is to help people think differently about how they live.
Whether we're discussing marriage, parenting, leadership, education, communication, health, personal responsibility, or relationships, we believe intentional conversations create intentional lives.
We don't claim perfection.
We simply refuse to stop growing.
Meet Kanika Lewis
Nurse. Public Health Professional. Social Worker. Wife. Mother. Advocate.
Kanika believes that healthy families build healthy communities.
With graduate degrees in Public Health and Social Work and a career in nursing, she brings evidence-based thinking together with real-life experience as a wife and mother.
She is passionate about:
Healthy relationships
Strong families
Parenting with intention
Black love
Community health
Transparency
Personal growth
Her perspective reminds us that compassion and accountability can exist together.
Away from work you'll probably find her enjoying Michigan's fall colors, listening to 80s and 90s music, spending time with our Springer Doodles, putting together a charcuterie board, or explaining why Tupac was one of the most influential voices of his generation.
She'll also be the first to tell you she's still learning.
Because growth never stops.
Meet John Lewis
Educator. Assistant Principal. Speaker. Mentor. Creator.
John has spent more than two decades helping people discover what they're capable of.
His passion has never been education alone.
It's human potential.
Whether leading schools, mentoring young men, coaching educators, or creating content, John's mission remains the same:
Help people become intentional about who they are becoming.
His personal motto—
Be Great on Purpose
—isn't just a slogan.
It's a daily decision.
John believes communication is one of the greatest skills a person can develop because conversations shape beliefs, beliefs shape decisions, and decisions shape lives.
Everything he creates is designed to help people become better husbands, wives, parents, leaders, educators, friends, and neighbors.
Because changing a life often begins with changing one conversation.
Why We Do This
We've known each other for more than 25 years.
We've been married for 18.
We've raised children, built careers, experienced success, made mistakes, and learned lessons we wish someone had shared with us much earlier.
Like many people, we inherited beliefs from family, culture, media, school, and life experiences without ever questioning whether they were true.
Some helped us.
Some held us back.
As we began intentionally examining those beliefs, we realized something:
Many of the messages we accepted weren't serving us—or the next generation.
So we made a decision.
To challenge ideas instead of blindly accepting them.
To ask better questions.
To listen more.
To grow continuously.
And to share what we're learning along the way.
If one conversation helps strengthen a marriage...
If one episode helps a parent connect with their child...
If one perspective helps someone become a better leader...
Then the work is worth it.
Our Mission
We exist to help people habitually challenge their thoughts so they can intentionally change their lives.
Because better people build better families.
Better families build better communities.
Better communities build a better culture.
Rescripting the culture.
One conversation at a time.
